Grout Calculator

This grout calculator gives a quick estimate of how much grout your tile job needs. We multiply length by width for the tiled area, then apply an average of 0.5 lb per square foot — a typical figure for 12-inch tiles with 1/8-inch joints.

Grout commonly comes in 25-lb bags, so we round up to whole bags and estimate about $18 per bag. Actual usage depends heavily on tile size and joint width.

Smaller tiles and wider joints use much more grout; large-format tiles use less. When in doubt, check the coverage chart on your grout bag for your exact tile and joint size.
