Sod Calculator

This sod calculator tells you how much sod you need for a new lawn. We multiply length by width for the area and add 5% for waste from trimming around curves, beds, and edges.

Sod is sold by the square foot, by the roll, and by the pallet (about 450 sq ft each). We estimate the number of pallets and a rough cost of $0.50 per square foot — prices vary by grass type and region.

Prepare the soil well and lay sod the same day it's delivered for best results. Water deeply right after installation.
